The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the 2nd CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has commenced the accreditation of Sports Journalists wishing to cover the historic event. The tournament is slated for 13th – 18th December, 2016 at Eko Atlantic, Lagos, Nigeria.
The accreditation, which is in partnership with the Sports Writer’s Association of Nigeria (SWAN), will last from 24th November – 8th December, 2016.
The following are the accreditation requirements:
- A letter requesting the accreditation of media personnel on official letterhead of the relevant media organization, signed by the Publisher, Editor-in-chief or Executive Director, News etc.
- The letter should be scanned (PDF format) and sent via email to email@example.com firstname.lastname@example.org.
Valid means of identification must also be provided. e.g. Official ID Cards or International Passport data page.
Also to be attached are 2 recent passport size colour photographs taken on a plain background
Independent broadcast or film production companies must provide a letter from a
broadcast organization or film distribution company which has committed to air or distribute the work, or from CAF/LOC partner organization that supports the production.
Online media (Subject to all other criteria, online media may include news outlets, blogs, vlogs and others) must meet the following requirements, in addition to those above.
The website must belong to a recognized media organization and have a specific, verifiable street address and a telephone number. The website must have at least 60% original news content or commentary or analysis, including coverage of international sporting activities.
Freelance journalists, including photographers, must provide clear documentation that they are on assignment from a specific news organization or publication. A valid assignment letter from that news organization, or publication, is required.
- Documents Must be provided in one of two CAF working languages (English & French)
Double accreditation is not permitted.
